Mechanical Lead – Data Centre Project – Finland
A specialist European contractor delivering high-value, technically complex data centre projects across the Nordics is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to oversee mechanical systems delivery on a major hyperscale project in Finland.
With a strong reputation for quality execution and engineering excellence in the mission-critical sector, this contractor provides the opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering some of Europe’s most advanced infrastructure.
This is a full-time, site-based role suited to a mechanically focused professional with leadership capabilities and a proven track record in complex building services or mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the full mechanical installation scope, including chilled water systems, CRAC units, ductwork, ventilation, drainage, and fuel systems.
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality delivery.
Review technical drawings, installation plans, and submittals to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
Oversee QA/QC processes, snagging, documentation, and progress reporting across all mechanical systems.
Collaborate with commissioning teams to support pre-commissioning, flushing, testing, and handover stages.
Manage daily site activities and maintain close coordination with electrical, civil, and commissioning teams.
Promote and enforce strict health and safety standards and foster a proactive, accountable site culture.
Candidate Profile:
Mechanically qualified: degree, diploma, or trade-certified in mechanical or building services disciplines.
5+ years’ experience in a mechanical lead or supervisory role on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
Strong technical expertise in HVAC, chilled water, BMS, fuel systems, and fire suppression.
Proven ability to lead subcontractors and manage complex mechanical installation packages.
Experience in mission-critical or high-spec environments is essential.
Fluent English required; experience in the Nordic region is beneficial.
Must be based in or open to relocating to Finland – accommodation and travel support provided.
